Change to come on the bench of Racing 92. Stuart Lancaster, former coach of the England team, now assistant to Leinster, will join the Ile-de-France next season. The news was made official by the club from the Irish province on Monday, September 26. “I’ve always wanted to challenge myself as a coach and the opportunity to train in France at a club like Racing 92 is exciting”explains the person concerned in the press release.

During his four years in charge of England, Lancaster did not win any major trophies. Four times second in the Six Nations Tournament, he was also in the disastrous elimination of the XV de la Rose in chickens from his home World Cup in 2015, after which he announced his resignation. At 52, Lancaster will replace Laurent Travers, currently director of rugby and present on the Racing bench since 2013. Under his leadership (and that of Laurent Labit by his side until 2019), the Ciel et Blancs won a title champion of France (2016) and played in three European Cup finals (2016, 2018, 2020).
