The girls and boys of the Campagne-lès-Hesdin school, in Pas-de-Calais, have been exceptionally reunited to bring two class photos from 1946 to life. The hair has turned white, but the atmosphere was good the !

In Campagne-lès-Hesdin (Pas-de-Calais), Blanche, 87, and her classmates from the girls’ school posed again, 76 years later, for a partial reproduction of their 1946 class photo. memory of names is intact, but the distant memory of the precise moment is a little less so. While they were 38 schoolgirls at the time, they are a dozen to find themselves, Sunday, October 16, on the picture. There are also slightly fewer boys than in the 1940s.

The reunion could take place thanks to Quentin Tellier, the initiator of the souvenir photo. He too is a child of Campagne-lès-Hesdin, and passionate about history. “Young people tend to forget that today’s old people were young, and [qu’elles] have a story to tell. Bringing them together in one place all together on the same day is a real pleasure”, explains the latter. The former comrades then met over a glass of friendship. “We toast to the year 1946. They were beautiful years, the most beautiful. We had no worries at that time”confides Marcelle Tiret, 12 years old in 1946. At the time separated in their respective schools, girls and boys can now pose together in the same photo, filled with history and memories.
