Former Calgary Flames star player | Lanny McDonald discharged from hospital

(Calgary) The Calgary Flames have forwarded a message from their former star Lanny McDonald, in which he indicates that he has been released from the hospital after suffering a heart attack earlier this month .

The 71-year-old wrote in an Instagram post that he ended his “two-week stay with new, better pipes, luxury hardware and a symbolically full heart.” His post was accompanied by a photo showing him standing in front of the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary.

McDonald had indicated on February 5 that on his way home from attending the NHL All-Star Game weekend in Toronto, two nurses who were heading to their gate at the Calgary International Airport came to his help.

The former forward from Hanna, Alberta, was co-captain of the Flames and their leader when they won the Stanley Cup in 1989.

McDonald wrote that he is now back “to enjoy the rest of the Flames season from the comfort of home rather than from hospital wifi,” adding, “if you know it, you know it know! »

He also praised the medical staff at Foothills Medical Center, and encouraged the Flames to “persevere” since that’s what helps keep his blood pressure at an acceptable level.
