(Paris) The French Constitutional Council on Friday validated the essentials of the pension reform project, one of the flagship files of Emmanuel Macron’s second term against which unions, oppositions and demonstrators have been mobilizing for months.
The members of the Council have censured a number of secondary aspects of the reform but have not challenged its main measure which pushes back the legal retirement age from 62 to 64, according to a press release from the Council.
More details will follow.
