To secure the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, French law enforcement will be joined by European police officers and soldiers.
Several nations such as Poland have announced send military reinforcements to help secure the 2024 Paris Olympics. Warsaw is expected to send 40 police officers and 13 teams with sniffer dogs. “Foreign police officers or soldiers will not come into contact with the population, they will probably not be in information, reception or complaint-taking functions, but rather in slightly more critical activities”confides Mathieu Zagrodzki, associate researcher at CESPID, specialist in domestic policy.
British officers in France during the Rugby World Cup
Receiving foreign aid, an idea that is not new. During the last Rugby World Cup, 160 European officers, including British officers, had come to France to participate in the event. France welcomes, but also sends its forces abroad, such as to Qatar for the World Cup soccer 2022, or in 2012, for the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdom).
