Some Olympic delegations are already in France where they are finishing their regional preparation before coming to Paris to compete in the Olympic Games.
The Olympics have not yet started, but 71 Britons have set foot on French soil. “We’ve been shown what these Games are going to be like, it looks fantastic. It’s going to be a great memory. Now we’re going to experience it all in real life. We’re just super excited.”explains a British boxer. They are not the first to arrive. In Cesson-Sévigné (Ille-et-Vilaine), canoeing-kayaking training has begun for a Mexican athlete. She shares the whitewater pool with Chinese and American competitors. All arrived two days earlier with one goal: to be ready for the competition.
“I had never been here before. We just practiced for the first time. We are trying to understand how this river works. The facility is perfect and everyone welcomed us well”confides an American athlete. 4 million euros have been invested to meet the very high level standards. In the South-East, the city of Miramas (Bouches-du-Rhône) has been chosen as a base camp by the Kenyan Olympic selection. The grounds are dedicated to them. Ideal conditions for training.
