Ford has launched a recall campaign to correct a risk of fuel leak affecting a total of 2,955 examples of the Bronco Sport (2022 and 2023) and Escape (2022) SUVs.
The affected versions are equipped with the 1.5L three-cylinder turbo. The recall sheet specifies that “on certain vehicles, a fuel injector could crack”, something which could obviously cause a fire under the hood of the vehicle.
The injector control software will be updated and a drainage tube will also be added to the recalled vehicles, it is specified. Ford will also offer a 15-year/240,000 km extended warranty on these injectors.
