On Sunday October 30, Francis Letellier received the president of the Hauts-de-France region, Xavier Bertrand, who founded his We France movement, allied with the Les Républicains party. He speaks, among other things, on immigration, pension reform and the rise in electricity prices.

Lola was buried in Pas-de-Calais this week. The right places the responsibility for this news item on the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin. Xavier Bertrand does not seem to share this idea. “If I had thought that, I would have spoken on the subject”said the president of the Hauts-de-France regionreceived Sunday, October 30, on the set of “Sunday in Politics” by Francis Letellier. He does not understand recovery by extremes. “There is the pain of the family and that is what we must respect. Any political recovery in this matter made me nauseous”he explains.

On migration policy, Xavier Bertrand denounces a “terrible failure for years and years”. He wishes that “those who should be” be deported and that the obligations to leave French territory (OQTF) are “insured”. “When there are migrants, who have no title to stay with us, there is no obligation to leave French territory which is respected”.

Electricity bills are skyrocketing and it’s got professionals roaring, especially bakers. The government will have to put its hand in its pocket to help. ”Between the electricity shock absorber and the safety net, all of these measures represent an effort of nearly 12 billion euros”said Thursday, October 27 the Prime Minister. “We must help the French people get through this difficult phase (…), but we must do more, especially for the energy bill of our companies”, supports the ex-LR. He wants to help more so that companies do not go out of business.

Regarding the pension reform, Emmanuel Macron argued that the legal age will increase to 65 in 2031, but a departure may be considered at 64, under conditions. “Some can go further, others cannot. I am in favor of going to term at 65 gradually, except for those who are damaged”argues Xavier Bertrand.

In December, LR members will vote for the future president of the party between Éric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau and Aurélien Pradié. “I want to listen well to explain as objectively as possible the reasons for my choice. I expect debates so that everyone can express themselves. (…) It allows you to know the direction, the vision that each and every one proposes”, argues Xavier Bertrand. Whoever the president is elected in a month, he announces that he will stay with the party.
