At the end of the trial of the attacks of November 13, some victims regret certain sentences deemed too low. Lydia also talks about her fear of the post-trial and the feeling of emptiness that could overtake her.

Lydia is one of the victims disappointed by the verdict pronounced in the context of the attacks of November 13, Wednesday June 29. If she approves Salah Abdeslam’s life sentence, she does not understand the other sentences. “I am worried, because some have not had the sentences we hoped for, and we say that people who go to Syria can be released after 18 years in prison.“, she says.

Lydia expected a lot from this meeting with the law. However, the start of the trial was difficult. Salah Abdeslam hit the young woman by presenting himself as an Islamic State fighter. “I do not understand how he can put himself in the role of the fighter by using a religion which is also that of my family“, she confided. For 10 months, Lydia regularly followed the hearings. She also testified at the bar. With the end of the trial, Wednesday, June 29, the fear of emptiness somewhat won the young woman. “We spent ten months all together, getting together, (…) and suddenly we’re going to find ourselves alone. We are a little relaxed in nature, facing ourselves“, she confided.
