Myrtha Pools was born in Italy in 1961, a brand unknown to the general public, and yet billions of viewers will soon discover it. Giorgio Colletto, The founder of the company had the idea of ​​importing Florida pools from the United States. A turning point came in 1977, when the company bought a patent for the polymerization of stainless steel, purchased from a German named Myrtha, and the company, which at the time was called Piscine Castiglione, became Myrtha Pools.

The company manufactures the pools for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. “Everything is ready, everything is delivered. We are just waiting impatiently for the start of the tests”underlines Alexandre Gandoin, sales director of the Myrtha Pools brand.

“The entire Paris 2024 Games, specifies Alexandre Gandoin, represented for Myrtha Pools the manufacture and installation of 24 pools in France: three temporary, which will be dismantled and permanently reinstalled for other communities, and 21 permanent. The first project started four years ago, and the last in Paris. La Défense Arena is currently being completed.”

Myrtha Pools builds pools for swimming competitions, but also for leisure centres and communities. “Leisure pools, learning pools for children, pools in hotels. We produce 300 pools from our Italian factories per year, and in France, we equip between 12 and 15 projects per year. A project represents between 1 and 5 pools.” A 25-metre pool for a local authority costs between 250,000 and 600,000 euros.

France is the leading European country in terms of the number of swimming pools, and for Myrtha Pools, the second largest export country, with the United States coming in first place. For the private market, France has a large number of garden swimming pools for individuals.

“We have been committed to sustainable development initiatives for a long time now, specifies Alexandre Gandoinand we had a study done which concluded that Myrtha pools had a carbon footprint twice as demanding as a traditional concrete pool with tiles.” The company’s CO2 emissions have been halved, according to the sales director.
