for the Gérard Philippe Centenary, events addressed to as many people as possible

It is as much the committed man as the myth of the actor who has remained young for eternity that interests the city of Cannes. On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of this legend of French cinema, from the neighborhood of Petit Juas, a series of tributes is scheduled. Young people in particular will be omnipresent there with a desire to touch a very wide audience, from the most knowledgeable to the least connoisseur, with no age restrictions.

Actor by day and trade unionist by night, Gérard Philippe was for a time at the head of the French Union of performers close to the CGT. Hence his well-known obsession with the actor to tirelessly develop popular education, classics of theater or cinema, as well as more avant-garde circles like Jean Vilar. It is in this spirit that the city of Cannes intends to pay tribute to him, thanks to the active participation of his daughter Anne-Marie Philippe.
