For the French song, an opaque queen

It’s always curious, when the future finally arrives. Forty-two years ago, Julien Clerc imagined that twenty years later the Queen of England would have long since died. However, Elizabeth II died last Thursday, in 2022. And he and Mick Jagger are still singers, on stage and in the studio.

With this death, it’s not just the end of an era, it’s the end of an eternity. And, we who are French, we have never been able to oppose to the longevity of the Queen of England other than the longevity of another sovereign.
