The series was first called “Florence Larrieu: the judge is a woman”, when it landed on TF1 in 1993. When the actress Florence Pernel left, she became “Alice Nevers” in 2002, under the features of Marine Delterme, who succeeded him. Twenty years later, the series bows out on Thursday February 10, at the request of the channel, which wishes to renew its fictions. For the final double episode broadcast at 9:10 p.m., the assistant prosecutor investigates in a Normandy stud farm where a jockey was murdered.

On the private side, it is also the epilogue of his relationship with Commander Marquand since the couple is getting married: “We judge love stories by the way they end. So it had to be beautiful and generous. For the final scene, I wanted to talk to the audience, looking at the camera. It was the last day filming, we did the wedding. I was very moved but I shouldn’t be too moved. Because when you’re too moved, you steal the emotion from the other. And I didn’t want to steal the emotion of the spectator. I leave the space for people to feel what they want.”

If TF1 decided to put an end to “Alice Nevers”, it is because the audiences for the commercial target – women in charge of purchases under 50 – were falling, although for the public as a whole they remained at a high level, with more than 5 million viewers for the last episodes broadcast in the fall of 2020. Marine Delterme says she understands this decision: “We must allow the channel to start other series. It also coincided with the period of confinement where I also asked myself questions, asked myself what I wanted to do with my life, like many French people. I said to myself that I had to move on and take risks.”

Thursday evening Marine Delterme will watch the final episode surrounded by the creator and producer of the series Pascale Breugnot, the producer Vincent Mouluquet and part of the team. Not easy to turn the page of a great adventure of twenty years.
