“For Honor”, a film about immigration and rugby

In the movie For honor, in theaters Wednesday, May 3, the rugby team of Tourtour (Var) accumulates defeats. But this year, the coach decided at all costs to win the derby. The arrival of a dozen refugees will transform the trial. The big-hearted coach will undertake to accommodate them in his hotel with an idea behind his head: to win the derby thanks to the refugees. For the director, Philippe Guillard, a former rugby player, this sport is above all a school of living together.

“Ordinary people”

It was in Meymac, in Corrèze, a land of rugby, that the film was shot in the summer of 2022. The inhabitants had a lot of fun playing the extras. Last March, at the village cinema, they had the privilege of seeing the film before everyone else. In the film, the initially reluctant village is quickly moved by the journey of these refugees. “In this film, we are introduced to ordinary people who look like us, who could be us”indicates the actor Olivier Marchal. For honor is a touching comedy that unites around a rural and fraternal rugby.
