Azadeh Masihzadeh, who studied cinema under Asghar Farhadi, says the film is based on his documentary All Winners All Losers.

“Three complaints have been filed against the film,” Ms.and Kaveh Rad, attorney for the director. Two are from M.me Masihzadeh and another comes from the prisoner who inspired this feature film, who accuses Mr. Farhadi of defamation, according to the same source.

Two of the complaints were dismissed, but one of them, the one concerning the copyrights of Mme Masihzadeh, was retained during a first judgment, indicated Mand Radi.

The film’s French producer, Alexandre Mallet-Guy, said he was “firmly convinced that the court will dismiss Mr.me Masihzadeh. »

“She cannot claim ownership of stories in the public domain, given that the prisoner’s story was leaked in newspaper articles and TV reports years before the publication of M’s documentary.me Masihzadeh,” he said in a statement.

“The story of this former prisoner finding gold in the street and returning it to its owner is only the starting point of the plot ofA hero. The rest is pure Asghar’s invention,” he says.

Mr. Farhadi, who received two Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category for A separation (2011) and The traveling salesman (2016), did not comment.
