For her visit to the UN, Queen Letizia of Spain swaps her black mourning dress for a flamboyant red… and it’s Zara!

Dressed in a black Carolina Herrera dress and matching Manolo Blahnik pumps, Monday, September 19, to attend the arm of her husband Felipe VI, at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, Letizia of Spain opted for more joyful tones, this September 20 , when she had joined New York from London, for an important engagement.

She wears a red dress from the Zara X Narciso Rodriguez capsule

The godmother of Unicef, which is dedicated to improving and promoting the condition of children, went to UN headquarters on Tuesday to meet with mental health experts. And she wore a red dress that turned heads!

She, who is used to wearing designer dresses as well as cheap ready-to-wear, made everyone agree by wearing a dress from a brand new collaboration between Zara and Narciso Rodriguez! The Spanish giant is for a rare time taking the same path as its Swedish competitor, H&M. And Letizia could not resist. The collection was unveiled on September 8th and it offers limited edition outfits ranging from €29.95 to €359.

And among the coats, skirts, bags, belts, shoes offered by this capsule, Letizia chose a dress available for purchase on the brand’s website worth 159 euros! A royal look at a very low price, therefore. She completed her outfit with a black leather Giorgio Armani bag (which she already wore with her outfit when she came to Westminster Abbey on Monday) and black pumps.

One dress for the morning, another for the afternoon

For the rest of the day, and for some unknown reason, Letizia had changed. Leonore and Sofia’s mom spent the afternoon in a white Carolina Herrera floral print dress. An outfit that she completed with shoes and a Magrit bag.
