For her birthday, a centenarian treats herself to a parachute jump

A few minutes of descent and a memory engraved forever. Hanging on to the parachute, the British woman is not a customer like the others. Indeed, Manette Baillie has just celebrated her 102nd birthday under the cheers of her loved ones, Sunday August 25. “I guess you could say ‘mission accomplished’. When the door opened, I thought to myself: ‘there’s nothing more to do or say, just jump’, so I jumped. I remember the feeling on my legs and then everything went blurry. I closed my eyes, the fall was very fast.”says the centenarian.

With her parachute jump, Manette Baillie managed to raise 9,000 pounds, or nearly 12,000 euros, for several charities. This super-granny addicted to thrills even treated herself to a ride in a Ferrari for her 100th birthday.
