For the Minister of the Economy, “the net is not the Wild West”: he agrees with rapper Booba, at the forefront of denouncing the excesses of certain influencers on social networks.

Bruno Le Maire believes that Booba has “raison” of “remember that there are deviations” : rapper Booba had accused Magali Berdah, popess of influencers, of promoting scams last year. Bercy has launched an online consultation to better supervise the work of influencers, targeted by several controversies in recent months and qualified for some “of influencers”. “We want to give them a status and strengthen controls”, assures Bruno Le Maire. For example, “When you have an alcohol product placement, or other product placements, the legal notices must appear on the sites of influencers, which is not the case today”, illustrated the minister.

“The net is not the Wild West, insists Bruno Le Maire. This is not a fight against influencers, we want a device to protect influencers, not to stigmatize them.”

After a consultation on the regulation of influencers in which nearly 19,000 people took part in January on the make.org site, a “concluding meeting” is scheduled for Monday March 20 in Bercy before a press conference on the subject, the ministry said.
