Food voucher: who can benefit from the aid?

Enabling the most modest to buy organic, French and local products is the ambition of the food voucher. A measure that Emmanuel Macron says he wants to apply quickly if he is re-elected. The modalities are still tostudy, but it could amount to around fifty euros per month, and affect 8 million French people. A boost that would be welcome for customers of a producer’s shop. “It will also help large and modest families to have fun from time to time and to buy better quality products”thinks a woman.

Where can the check be used? Direct sales point, large distribution: nothing is excluded. For the manager of a store, this must promote local production. But for associations, the measure does not go far enough. “50 euros to choose how to eat (…) it is very insufficient in amount and what would be much preferable is a revaluation of social minima”Judge Jean Merckaert of Secours Catholique.
