Food: the first local varieties of strawberries attract consumers

Some prefer local strawberries

Prices remain high at the start of the season because French strawberries remain more expensive, for example, than their Spanish neighbours. But some customers prefer to favor the local. Harvesting of gariguette, the earliest variety in France, started a week early this year. The harvest promises to be quite good, something to reassure market gardeners. French strawberries seem to be resisting inflation for the moment.
