On the Internet, so-called 100% natural food supplements are enjoying growing success. However, behind the beautiful promises often hide serious side effects.

They are presented as natural products, but may contain dangerous or even prohibited molecules. Health authorities warn about food supplements sold on the Internet. Slimming cure, tablets to regulate hormones… Beware of false promises and especially serious side effects.

Jade paid the price. This young woman, met by the teams of France Télévisions, was just looking to lose a few superfluous kilos. Eight months ago, she ordered capsules on the Internet: an appetite suppressant presented as 100% natural. Problem: from the first pill, the nightmare began. “I started having tachycardia, having a lot of pain in my chest. I started having hallucinations, panic attacks. […] I vomited so much that I started coughing up blood”she testifies today, hoping that her misadventure will serve others.
