Less expensive products with less attractive packaging would be just as good as first price products. This is what emerges from a survey published by the association cfu What to choose, Thursday, October 20.

Can less expensive products, with sleek packaging and very attractive prices, be worth their brand equivalents? “I was surprised that no, between certain brands and sub-brands there is no difference”says a young woman. “With a brand, we also sometimes have the idea that it will be of better quality when in fact not at all”says another. The magazine “Que Choisir” conducted the investigation. First price products would be similar or better in some cases. Sometimes the recipes are even identical.

“The extreme example will be lasagna. They come from the same factory (…). They are rather decent lasagna so might as well pay for them twice as much”explains Elsa Abdounjournalist at theUFC-Que Choose”. The products are less expensive, because manufacturers use several levers to lower prices. These are products that did not require research and development (…) These are products whose specifications may be less demanding”points out Olivier Dauversretail specialist. To make your choice, it is advisable to look at the list of ingredients. The longer it is, the more the product will have been modified. For the taste, everyone has their own opinion.
