The number of food scandals that have happened recently is puzzling. After the chocolates Kinder and the pizza Buitoniit’s the group’s turn of cheeses Lactalis to be recalled, Wednesday April 6: they could contain the bacterium responsible for listeriosis.

Coulommiers and bries from the brand Grain barley sold in supermarkets are withdrawn from sale on Wednesday April 6. They could indeed contain Listeria, the bacteria responsible for listeriosis. These products must therefore be returned or destroyed. No poisoning has been reported so far. These cheeses are made in Livarot (Normandy) for the group Lactalis. A check revealed a very low presence of Listeria, due to raw milk from one of the suppliers.

This bacterium can cause serious infections, especially in pregnant women. In France, 350 cases of listeriosis are recorded each year. After the pizza Buitoni and the chocolates Kinderso this is a new alert in our plates. Reminders are frequent on the government website: more than 4,000 food references are non-compliant or dangerous. People who have eaten the cheeses, and who have a fever or headaches, are invited to consult their doctor.
