8:58 p.m. : Jamel Debbouze takes stock of French cinema “who suffers”. 8:43 p.m. : At the time of the nominations, many reactions deplored the absence of women in the best director category. In response, the Cleopatra Prize, exclusively female, rewarded Saint-Omer by Alice Diop (audience award) and Other people’s children by Rebecca Zlotowski (Jury Prize). The Alice Guy prize, created in 2018, also exclusively female, was awarded to See Paris againby Alice Winocour.
