Who will succeed Goodbye Cons, the big winner of the Césars in 2021? French cinema awards, Friday, February 25, from 8:55 p.m., its most popular statuettes, with a favorite, the film lost illusions, adapted from the novel by Honoré de Balzac. The feature film by Xavier Giannoli garnered 15 nominations. The ceremony will be presented by Antoine de Caunes, live from L’Olympia in Paris.
Fifteen nominations for lost illusions. Xavier Giannoli’s film collects prestigious nominations, ranging from best film to best director, including best adaptation and best male hope (Benjamin Voisin, already nominated for this title for Summer 85 of François Ozon last year).
Annette and Aline as underdogs. Behind lost illusionstwo films could win statuettes: Annette, opera-rock drama by Leos Carax, and Aline, inspired by the life of Celine Dion, by and with Valérie Lemercier. With 11 and 10 nominations respectively, they are ahead of BAC North (7), The divide (6) and Black Box and The Olympiads (5).
An honorary Caesar for Cate Blanchett. The 52-year-old Australian actress will be honored for her entire career. It is Isabelle Huppert, with whom she had shared the stage in an adaptation of Goodby Jean Genetin Sydney (2013) and in New York (2014), which will award him this Honorary Cesar.
