Soon a new format? The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, addressed to the political groups suggestions for reform of the question session to the government. The exercise is the subject of growing disinterest from both MPs and the public. These proposals are detailed in a letter consulted by franceinfo.
Key positions renewed. The composition of the Assembly office was renewed on Monday by Yaël Braun-Pivet, at the opening of the 2023-2024 ordinary session. The distribution of the positions of vice-presidents, quaestors and secretaries remains unchanged, despite the still diffuse embarrassment at the Palais-Bourbon around the two vice-presidents obtained by the National Rally at the start of the legislature.
LFI is contesting sanctions before European justice. The president of the La France insoumise group, Mathilde Panot, announced Tuesday that the European Court of Human Rights had been contacted regarding three sanctions pronounced by the office of the National Assembly against deputies of her party. She notably mentioned the case of Thomas Portes, who received a 15-day exclusion after setting foot on a balloon bearing the image of the head of the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, in February.
