A ceremony outside Paris for the first time. Gabriel Attal chairs, Monday March 11, the national tribute ceremony dedicated to the victims of terrorism in Arras (Pas-de-Calais). It is in this city that Professor Dominique Bernard was killed five months ago by a former student aged 20 and listed for Islamist radicalization. Some 600 people have been invited, students and teachers will read texts. You can follow the Prime Minister’s speech which starts at 10:30 a.m. from the citadel. Follow our live stream.

A ceremony relocated for the first time. Usually, Emmanuel Macron presides over the ceremony at Les Invalides, where a bronze statue was erected symbolizing the words of the victims which continues even after their death. This day of tribute has a European dimension since it is held on the anniversary of the attacks of March 11, 2004 in Madrid, twenty years ago.

A meeting with former students of Dominique Bernard. Before his speech, the Prime Minister will go to Gambetta middle school in Arras, which will remain open on Monday, to exchange with students and then teachers, and renew their “support of the Nation” five months after the tragedy. Gabriel Attal must speak with them behind closed doors.

A medal ceremony for five people. Gabriel Attal will then present the Legion of Honor insignia to the five people from the establishment who intervened in October, the day of the attack. They had been knighted in the Legion of Honor promotion on January 1, along with six police officers.
