This time, nothing should prevent the Olympico from going to an end. In a Groupama Stadium called to ring hollow, Tuesday February 1, Olympique Lyonnais hosts Olympique de Marseille for the second time this season.

This match counting for the 14th day of the championship was stopped after a few minutes, on November 21, following a bottle throw at Marseille captain Dimitri Payet. Lyon was penalized with a penalty point in the standings and the French football authorities decided to replay the match behind closed doors.

Jorge Sampaoli’s Marseillais are aiming for second place, currently occupied by their neighbors from Nice. On the Lyon side, Peter Bosz’s men want to relaunch themselves by switching to the first part of the table in the standings, in order to believe in a qualification for the Champions League.

Apart from the November 21 match, the last Olympico dates back to February 2021 at the Stade Vélodrome. The two teams had separated in a draw (1-1).
