Jorane, Le vent du nord, La bottine souriree, Wesli and Lara Klaus will be among the local artists who will perform at the next Folk Alliance International. This global musical event will take place in Montreal in February 2025.
In total, more than 175 artists from 26 countries will try to get noticed at this supermarket of so-called folk music, which includes Celtic music, blues, Americana, bluegrass, Cajun music and various other traditional music and their fusion with contemporary styles.
In addition to a wide variety of artists from Quebec and Canada, the Folk Alliance International will of course welcome rising artists from elsewhere such as the American Olive Klug (folk queer with a little Joni Mitchell side), Malena Cadiz (singer with a captivating tone) or Marta Pereira da Costa (who reinvents the Portuguese guitar).
The Folk Alliance International event will be held from February 19 to 23, 2025 at the Queen Elizabeth in Montreal. This is the first time that this music market has taken place here since 2019.
