The composition of Elisabeth Borne’s new government was unveiled on Friday 20 May. The head of the political department of France Télévisions Cyril Graziani takes stock of this new team on the 19/20 set.
For the formation of the new government, unveiled on Friday, May 20, the executive wanted a tighter package. This is done since there are 17 ministers, six deputy ministers and four secretaries of state. That is 28 members in total. “For parity, we are there: 14 everywhere, including the Prime Minister. Average age: 48 years old. Which makes it one of the youngest governments in history.”decrypts Cyril Grazianihead of the political department of France Télévisions. On the other hand, “all components of the majority are represented.”
Regarding the renewal, half of the ministers were already: fifteen ministers. Some remain at their posts. Others like Olivier Véran, Olivier Dussopt, Sébastien Lecornu or Gabriel Attal just change their portfolio. It’s called a game of musical chairs.”recalls the political journalist. The executive could readjust this team after the legislative elections which will take place in mid-June.
