fly-half Zack Holmes leaves Stade Toulousain for UBB

We knew that Zack Holmes was leaving Toulouse. The Australian opener announced it in mid-June. And there were rumors but so far no formalization. After five seasons in red and black colours, the 32-year-old international has met his new teammates in Bordeaux. Zack Holmes posted an image of his first training with UBB on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Zack Holmes had celebrated his 100th match with Stade Toulousain last February. The opening half had arrived in Haute-Garonne from La Rochelle during the 2017-2018 season. The versatile Australian who should compensate for the departure of François Trinh-Duc leaves for Bordeaux with another Toulousain, the third line Antoine Miquel.

UBB finished third in the Top 14 regular season and were beaten in the semi-finals by Brennus winners Montpellier. Christophe Urios’ men are also the first opponents of Stade Toulousain for the 2022-2023 season, on Sunday September 4, in Gironde.
