On December 18, the day after the Miss France 2023 election, the Blues left Qatar empty-handed after a match full of twists and turns against Argentina. In the lead, Kylian Mbappé, the most disappointed of them, who has just made his comeback at PSG, more combative than ever. And while the young player assures that he will not recover “never” for this failure, a certain Floriane Bascou, beauty queen, has offered to avenge him.
She wants to bring the crown home
First runner-up to Miss France 2022, Diane Leyre, it is she who will participate in Miss Universe, in the United States, in New Orleans, this year. The crown which was last given to France via Iris Mittenaere is put back into play on January 14. That night, it’s on Paris Premiere that we can follow the program, commented by Sylvie Tellier and François Pier Pélinard-Lambert.

And Floriane Bascou is determined to mark history with her name. As she explains to our colleagues from TéléStar, she did not “no doubt” on its success. She explains thus:We just missed the World Cup but there, I will try to rectify the situation and bring back a crown (laughs). All I have to do is rest a little bit and take advantage of my family to be in good shape on January 14th“.
The international competition is however very different from Miss France – since we go from 30 contenders for the title to 86 for Miss Universe. And Floriane Bascou is very honored: “Representing France is something else”. To give herself courage, she recalls that Clémence Botino had finished in the top 10. Of course, she also has in mind the victories of Christiane Martel, elected Miss Universe 1953 and Iris Mittenaere, elected Miss Universe 2016.
“I hope that this year we can have a third”
About them, Floriane Bascou believes: “It’s true that there were only two. I hope that this year we can have a third. My goal is to bring this crown back to France!”
