Florian Grill elected president of the French Federation

Hexagonal rugby has its new headliner. Opposed to Patrick Buisson, Florian Grill was elected, Wednesday June 14, president of the French Rugby Federation (FFR), until the end of 2024. In a press release, the FFR announced that he had obtained 58.14 % of the votes in his favor, against 41.86% for his opponent, close to Bernard Laporte. This vote is the result of a nationwide consultation, since all the clubs in the territory were asked to vote for this election. According to the federation, 92.65% of clubs responded to the call, representing 95.47% of the vote. He succeeds Alexandre Martinez, who has held the position on an interim basis since February 3 following the departure of Bernard Laporte.

Declared opponent of Bernard Laporte and defender of amateur rugby, Florian Grill, 58 years old and who was notably supported by former players such as Fabien Pelous, Abdelatif Benazzi or Jean-Marc Lhermet, therefore achieved his goal and saw his first challenges arrive very fast.
