At 48, Florence Foresti is making a dazzling return to the spotlight. She goes back on stage for her new show Boys Boys Boys at the Marigny theater before a tour throughout France while his series will hit the screens Orders (Canal+). In these two creations, she speaks for herself, without taboos, filters or other masks. She approaches her life with humor, whether it is celibacy – she is now in a relationship with comedian Alexandre Kominek -, her relationship with her teenage daughter Toni in joint custody, her delusions between girlfriends but also her sufferings such as her depression. In Female versionsupplement of Sunday newspaper of September 25, she returns in particular to her relationships with men.
In his show boys boys boys, Florence Foresti speaks, as the title indicates, of men. Because if she did not hide her anger against some, like Roman Polanski at the César in the middle of #MeToo, she also wants to highlight men different from the old criticized dominant white male. The artist wants to talk about love and the love she has for those around her who are far from stereotypes. “I’d rather focus on love than war, that’s the only thing that gets me going“, she says in Female version. A single woman ready to love but there are prohibitive things in the male sex for her: “Machism. But those who have a reductive image of women are not interested in me, and vice versa.”
Indeed, Florence Foresti wants to show other men, those who do not make controversies and do not dirty women: “I am surrounded by sensitive, gentle, intelligent and virile men. Because virility is not a defect, it is loyalty, fidelity. Toxic men, I do not know them personally, but I am well aware that they exist, in particular through the Women Safe association of which I am the godmother. However, society makes too many amalgams, we confuse predator and male. Aggression must be detected and punished. Masculinity, no.”
A discourse that contrasts with that of a more radical feminism, but who cares, Florence Foresti is ready to shake up and affirm her opinions: “When we attack masculinity, when I had an extraordinary father, brilliant men in my life, friends who were more feminist than me, I want to do them justice. It is not only possible to take me reading. We fought for femininity to be multiple. (…) We must not forget that men are also complex and multiple.“
