Samuel, a former telecommunications engineer, came to pharmacopoeia and the distillation of plants by vocation. It was in Togo that he discovered the power of plants, particularly in the fight against malaria. He decides to launch himself and passes a diploma of phytotherapy and aromatherapy then follows the courses of a school of herbalism.
In 2011, he planted thyme, rosemary, peppermint and Damask roses in Los Masos and distilled them in a 125-litre copper still before investing in a 500-litre stainless steel still. Samuel is joined by Flora in 2018 and the plantations are diversifying: eucalyptus, verbena, rose geranium, noble laurel.
In addition to their agroforestry production, Samuel and Flora practice wild picking with pruning hooks and call on their producer friends to complete the range of plants for the distillery. Chamomile, oregano, savory, tarragon, lavender, the range is now very wide.
At the altitude distillery, the nickname they gave to their laboratory located next to the church of Los Masos, everything is organic. Floraluna can even be proud of the “Nature and progress” label.
