Reunion Wednesday in the semi-final of the Coupe de France

The Bisontines quickly took off in this meeting thanks in particular to the three quick goals of Lucie Granier at the start of the match and had a lead of up to seven goals in the first period, before a slight awakening of the Panthers just before half-time (11-16). But the Fleuryssoises could not resist the excellent start of the second period of the ESBF, which led for a long time by ten goals. the Fleury Loiret Handballthanks to the six achievements of Karichma Ekoh, the best Loiret this Sunday, returned to seven lengths of the Franc-Comtoises, but finally collapsed at the end of the match. With eight goals, Bisontine Clarisse Mairot was voted player of the match.

We are not at our level. That’s what saddens me – Christopher Cassan

It will take much more control and defensive rigor on Wednesday to hope to create a new feat in the Coupe de France (after eliminating Village of Toll and Paris 92). The two teams meet in the semi-finals of the competition. Kick off at 8 p.m. since Besançon sports hall.

The reactions

Christophe Cassan, coach of Fleury Loiret Handball

We gave Besançon a lot of chances to control things, we had a very bad start, then we couldn’t find the balance between attack and defense. We must defend with more aggression and solidarity. When we play against Metz and we concede 40 goals, we say to ourselves that it’s Metz, there I didn’t find Besançon really above, but it’s above all that we are not at our level. That’s what saddens me. The pressure to play at home is strong, I don’t recognize my team from trips to Paris or Metz. We are more relaxed outside and the performances are better…

I have been mourning the results for a while, if we continue to look back we will not move forward. What guides me now is the development of the players, especially on offense, since we had the worst offense in the league in January. We had to work on that to compete with our direct competitors. We are progressing in attack, but defensively we are less well, so we will have to rebalance things.

Tom Garnier, ESBF Assistant Coach

We were all keen to put the clocks back on time after the first leg, where this team had beaten us. This result allows us to confirm this fourth place that we have just gone for and are now looking towards third. The girls managed the weak times well, if you want to be a perfectionist, we would have liked to take less than 28 goals, but it’s a good result.

We prepared for this semi-final in the best possible way, by winning this match quite easily, we will continue to work in the same dynamic to win on Wednesday.
