Flames | Three other players subject to the COVID-19 protocol

(Calgary) Three other Calgary Flames players have been placed on the list of members subject to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

The Flames confirmed in a brief social media statement Tuesday that defender Noah Hanifin and strikers Milan Lucic and Sean Monahan have been added to six other players and a staff member in league protocol.

Forwards Elias Lindholm, Andrew Mangiapane, Brad Richardson and Adam Ruzicka and defenders Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov were included on the roster on Monday.

The protocol additions come a day after the NHL postponed three Flames games: Monday in Chicago; Tuesday in Nashville and Thursday at home against Toronto.

The league said in a statement on Monday that games have been postponed due to fears of continued spread and the likelihood of additional positive cases.

The Flames’ training facilities have been closed. Calgary is set to host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Calgary became the third team to see its season cut short by the virus.

Three Ottawa Senators games have been postponed and the New York Islanders canceled two last month.
