Flaggers injured in hit and run | One of the victims succumbed to his injuries.

(Montreal) The traffic signalman who was seriously injured in a hit and run on July 12, in the east of Montreal, succumbed to his injuries last Monday.

The news was announced Wednesday by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), which was continuing its investigation into the case.

On the evening of the tragedy, around 10:20 p.m., a motorist would have driven inside the beacons of a road construction site located near the intersection of boulevards Industriel and Saint-Jean-Baptiste, in the Pointe-aux-Trembles district. In doing so, he would have mowed down two signallers, injuring one of them seriously, before fleeing.

Shortly after the events, the SPVM reported that the hospital medical team treating the 39-year-old man feared for his life.

As for the other traffic signaller, a 39-year-old man, he suffered minor injuries.
