Five young people including two minors were arrested on the evening of Sunday, November 1 in two different districts of Valence (Drôme), after urban violence on the sidelines of Halloween night, reports France Bleu Drôme Ardèche. Forty CRS were mobilized for the evening.

At around 7 p.m., the police intervened in the Fontbarlettes district following fires in garbage cans and mortar fire. On the spot, the officials were targeted by stone throws. There were no injuries but three young men aged 25, 20 and 21 were arrested.

Other incidents took place in the Polygone district at the same time. The police were also targeted by fireworks and gravel mortars. Barricades have even been installed by young people, including construction barriers, to block traffic. At around 10 p.m., two minors aged 16 and 17 were arrested and then placed in police custody.

There was also mortar fire in the district of Valensolles, in Valence, in the early evening. But when the police arrived, the perpetrators, around thirty young people, dispersed. Also in the Drôme department, in Romans-sur-Isère, in the Monnaie district, garbage cans were set on fire and the police were targeted by projectile fire but the night was quieter than planned, specifies France Bleu.
