A date that no one has forgotten. On December 5, 2017, Johnny Hallyday
left us. Le Taulier was accompanied by his widow, Laeticia Hallyday, his children David, Laura Smet, Jade and Joy Hallyday, as well as his relatives and fans at the Madeleine church on December 9, 2017 to pay him a last tribute. Indeed, his coffin was followed by a horde of bikers who had descended the Champs-Élysées to accompany him to the church.
Since then, this place has become a place of contemplation for fans of the artist. Indeed, Johnny Hallyday does not rest in France but in Saint-Barthélemy, his adopted island. Consequently, his fans have no place to worship, except the church in which they were able to pay their last respects. Since his death, numerous gatherings have taken place and monthly masses have been held in his honor. But that was before.

Johnny Hallyday can no longer be honored at the Madeleine
Indeed, all this has come to an end, as we learn from our colleagues in Figaro
dated Friday September 29, 2023. A new priest arrived at the Madeleine church, and he decided to put an end to the celebrations put in place by Father Horaist. Bishop Patrick Chauvet replaced him in the parish last fall and imposed administrative procedures on fans.
In addition, the faithful learned that it was now forbidden to place a photo of Johnny Hallyday on the altar, as they were accustomed to doing. “We discovered that Mgr Chauvet had gone so far as to throw away the commemorative plaque placed at the entrance on the right near the font. I found it at the last minute in the trash and offered it to the Desperados”, notably confided Alessandro, leader of the church fans. A hard blow for the Taulier community.
