Three women and two men who at the material time were working in a surveillance and rescue center in Pas-de-Calais. They are suspected of not having sent a rescue team despite numerous calls for help.
Many Iraqi Kurds among the victims
No boat will be sent. In a conversationation, an operatrice from the rescue center is ironic about the situation. Help will only be sent on the spot the next day, thanks to the report of a fisherman. Negligence for the lawyer of several families of victims who today are demanding answers. “Aware of the danger, they made bad decisions”explains Me Emmanuel Daoud, lawyer for two families. Among the victims are many Iraqi Kurds. The maritime prefecture of the Channel did not want to comment on the case.
