Maya Cousineau Mollen,

Hannorak

Of Innu origin and granddaughter of Jack Monoloy, Maya Cousineau Mollen wants to join, through these Children of the lichen, a memory rooted in culture, to shed light on this body and this place involved in History. Against all disappearances, both of women and children, it wants to serve as a beacon, to keep conscience. In the second part, “A bullet in reserve”, a legitimate anger animates him. This collection responds to what is commonly called a duty of memory. (April 5)

She captures the extent to which present life rubs shoulders with the tragedies inscribed everywhere. Rome theatre, Rome cinema. Ghosts roam there. And these ghosts are often those of women immersed in a bloody story that keeps coming to the surface. We are already following the path of this great author.
