Five people stabbed in general battle in Vancouver

At least five people were stabbed in a violent general scuffle that broke out between two groups of drunk men in Vancouver on Sunday night.

Police said the two heavily intoxicated groups met at the corner of Davie and Mainland streets in the Yaletown area, mage of a party around 8:30 p.m.

For some reason that remained a mystery on Monday, spirits heated up between the two groups, leading to the outbreak of a brawl.

“We know that at least five people were stabbed, but it is possible that there are injuries that we do not know, because several people fled without speaking to the police”, detailed the sergeant. Steve Addison, Vancouver Police spokesperson.

The stabbed men had injuries to the face, stomach, back and legs. They had to be hospitalized, but their lives were not in danger.

All the victims were from Surrey or Langley, two towns in the suburbs of the metropolis, police said.

This level of violence in such a densely populated neighborhood is disturbing, ”said Sergeant Addison.
