Five civilians killed in mine explosion in Kharkiv region

Five Ukrainian civilians were killed by a mine planted by Russian troops on a forest road in the Kharkiv region, local authorities said on Monday, July 8. The explosion occurred “near cemetery number 17 on an unpaved forest road towards the village of Tsyrkouny”the head of the Kharkiv military district, Oleg Synegoubov, announced on Telegram.

The victims are a 53-year-old man, two women aged 64 and 25, a five-year-old boy and a three-month-old baby, the head of the military district explained. The mine exploded as their vehicle passed by.

The Russian invasion continues its advance in eastern Ukraine, where the worst fighting on the front is taking place according to kyiv. Moscow recently claimed the capture of two villages in the Donetsk region. kyiv is demanding additional weapons to face the offensive launched by Vladimir Putin in February 2022.
