Fishermen undertook, Thursday, December 23, the surprise blocking of the unloading of Dutch boats at the port of Boulogne-sur-mer, reports France Bleu Nord. This action is carried out by fishermen because of Brexit and the fishing methods of Dutch professionals.

Olivier Leprêtre, president of the regional fisheries committee, tells France Bleu Nord that “if the English no longer want the French, and the Boulogne fishermen no longer want the Dutch in French waters”. A Dutch boat was prevented from disembarking, so the two other approaching boats chose another port to disembark.

Last May, the Dutch had already been stranded in Boulogne-sur-mer, they are accused by the Boulogne fishermen of “loot” the Channel. A situation denounced for years but that Brexit risks worsening, according to French fishermen.
