First white decor in southern Quebec





Already a few centimeters of snow covered southern Quebec on Wednesday morning. Up to 20 centimeters of snow could accumulate during the day in some areas of the province.




Already around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, 5 centimeters of snow had accumulated in Greater Montreal, disrupting the road network at rush hour on the Metropolitan, the Décarie highway and Highway 25.

Transports Quebec also reported a few road exits in Quebec City which notably blocked the Robert-Bourassa highway, at Chemin Sainte-Foy.

Despite the weather conditions, Montrealers ventured on the roads of the metropolis by bike. It was not easy, while the bike paths remained snowy. Cyclists reported on the Vélo d’hiver Montréal Facebook group that the REV on Saint-Denis remained slippery.

Despite the weather conditions, Montrealers ventured on the roads of the metropolis by bike.

In Mauricie, it was rather 2 centimeters that had accumulated in the morning on Wednesday, and it fell no less than 6 centimeters in Gatineau, reported Météo Média.

Environment Canada has shared special weather reports for several regions of Quebec, in anticipation of snowfall. 5 to 10 centimeters of snow are expected in Greater Montreal on Wednesday, up to 15 centimeters in Mauricie, 20 in the Quebec region and 25 in Estrie.

The northern Gaspé Peninsula is still under “winter storm” alert. Percé should receive between 10 to 20 centimeters of snow overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, with gusts blowing at 70 km / h near the coast.
