(Montreal) TFI International says its net profit for the first quarter amounted to US92.8 million, down from US111.9 million a year earlier.
The Montreal-based transportation and logistics company says its revenues totaled US$1.87 billion, up from US$1.85 billion in the same quarter last year.
The company said its operating profit can be attributed in particular to lower revenues and volumes associated with freight transportation.
Diluted earnings per share were US$1.09, up from US$1.27.
According to President and CEO, Alain Bédard, the company “performed well in a difficult environment.”
He also said the recent acquisition of Daseke will add scale to TFI’s truckload operations starting this month.
