The first trailer for Chloé Robichaud’s next film, Happy Dayswas unveiled on Wednesday, in anticipation of a launch which is scheduled for theaters on October 20.
Third feature film by the director 35 years later Sarah prefers running And Country, Happy Days is also the third collaboration between Chloé Robichaud and Sophie Desmarais, who plays the main role of Emma, a young and talented conductor on the Montreal scene. We follow in particular her complex relationship with her father and agent Patrick, interpreted by Sylvain Marcel, especially when the young woman has the possibility of obtaining an important position within a prestigious orchestra. She must also try to reconcile her career with her romantic relationship with Naëlle, a cellist played by Nour Belkhiria who is newly separated and mother of a 5-year-old boy.
The cast of the film is completed by Maude Guérin, Vincent Leclerc, Yves Jacques, Katherine Levac, Ariel Charest and Jean-Philippe Baril-Guérard, while conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, principal conductor and artistic director of the Orchestra Metropolitan, Music Director of the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra, acted as music consultant. The Orchester Métropolitain also collaborated as much for the recording of the musical pieces as for the filming of the film.
Happy Days will premiere in Montreal on October 16 at Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts in the presence of the film crew, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchester Métropolitain.
