First incursion of the Ukrainian army into Russian territory

An amateur video filmed in Russia shows a shot falling a few meters from a motorist. Buildings are half destroyed in the small village of Soudja (Russia), 10 km from the Ukrainian border. According to the Russians, a thousand Ukrainian soldiers crossed the border on Tuesday, August 6 into Russia. The Russians themselves published a video in which they congratulate themselves on having hit Ukrainian armored vehicles: images confirmed by geolocation.

Five civilians have been killed, according to Russian authorities, and thousands of residents have been evacuated, taking roads strewn with traces of combat. Some say they have lost everything and are appealing to the Russian president. The latter was filmed at work to show that he is dealing with the situation. As always, the military wants to be reassuring, but this time acknowledges the 10 km incursion and losses. For their part, the Ukrainians have not made any direct official comment on this operation, but on Thursday, August 8, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia “had brought war” and that’“she should feel the effects”.
