The Olympic Games Committee decided last July that the 2024 handball matches will take place in the first week in Paris, Porte de Versailles and will end at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille.

It was then that this crazy idea germinated to bring together at the Maison du Handball in Créteil on Saturday October 22 and for the first time players aged 55 and over, amateurs and former professionals, to initially promote sport at any age.

The “Hand at any age” tournament is organized by VIRAGE-VIAGER, Préfon and Silver Alliance, three companies specializing in aging well. Together, they are joining forces with the French handball federation to launch this unprecedented sports tournament, with one objective: to show, two years before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, another image of aging, in the media. , through sports.

the French Federation of Sports Retirement (FFRS) is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is relaunching its activities to find licensees. CORERS Pays de la Loire is relaunching its sports activities for seniors. Since the pandemic, the succession of periods of confinement and the brake given to sports activities, a significant drop in registrations has been observed.

The CORERS federates 68 clubs distributed in five departments of the Pays de la Loire. In these clubs, many and varied activities are offered for the greatest number around this idea: “Sport for seniors, by seniors”.
